For the second straight year, Guthrie Public Schools and Total Wellness are partnering together to host a testing hub for rapid COVID, flu and strep.
The testing hub is setup for the school districts staff members, students, Logan County first responders, City of Guthrie employees and immediate family members of each group listed.
This will allow for rapid COVID, flu and strep tests as well as a telehealth visit with a provider and no appointment is necessary.
The testing hub is located at Cotteral Elementary School (2001 W. Noble Ave.). The testing will be conducted in a portable classroom located on the south side of the building.
Patients will need to park along Cleveland St. on the south side of the school. Patients are also asked not to attempt to enter the main school building.
The hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
GPS employees, students, City of Guthrie employees or Logan County first responders as well as their family members, will be required to bring their work ID or proof of employment. Their visit and testing are covered through your insurance plan. Co-pays and deductibles are waived.
When an employee, student, family members or first responders are presenting a fever or other symptoms related to COVID or another illness, site staff can direct these persons to the testing hub at Cotteral Elementary. Total Wellness staff will work with students, and their parents to conduct the telehealth visit with the provider. If authorized by parents, student testing can be conducted to rule out COVID, flu, or strep.
If necessary for treatment, the Total Wellness provider can call in a prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. Any employee, student or parent of a student who exhibits symptoms during the school day should report to the office of their school immediately.
The school district urges parents to keep their children home if they are symptomatic of COVID as defined in the GPS COVID protocols.
