Hopfer finishes runner-up at regionals; headed to State

The Guthrie High School boys tennis team competed at the 5A regional in Cascia Hall.

The headline of the regional was Guthrie’s Caden Hopfer (pictured in the center), who placed second and qualified for the state tournament in No. 1 singles.

In No. 1 doubles, Phoenix Braswell and Trevor Welch placed 5th, while in No. 2 doubles Jared Welch and Tyler Musil placed seventh.

Broghan Semrad placed sixth at No. 2 singles.

Guthrie is led by head coach Mary Hudson.

The first round of the state tournament will start Friday in Oklahoma City.
