Horse accident sends one person to hospital

A 39-year-old female was medflighted to a Oklahoma City hospital Wednesday afternoon after her horse fell on top of her.

The female, whose name has not been released, was bucked off from her horse and then the horse fell onto her. The accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m.

When Guthrie EMS and Rescue arrived they found the victim in a creek bed and were forced to use their Polaris to help bring her out to the helicopter. The Polaris is an ATV vehicle that allows crews to go into tight areas where an ambulance or rescue truck can not navigate to and transport patients.

The accident occurred on Highway 74C just off Highway 77.

The victim was air lifted to Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City with internal injuries.
