Recently the City of Guthrie City Council voted to allow waterfowl hunting in designated areas. A new Ordinance will provide for the use of shotguns, ar-15 rifles online, in A-2 Urban Agricultural Land Use Zones for the purpose of hunting fowl. That use will be permitted as follows:
1. On parcels of land five (5) acres or greater in size that are privately owned, with the permission of the property owner; and
2. Any shooting must occur at least 200 feet from any building and from any land not owned by the landowner; and
3. Hunters must meet all other requirements under Oklahoma Law for the discharge of a shotgun; and
4. Hunters must obtain a permit issued by the Guthrie Chief of Police indicating the type and manner of use, renewable annually.
