The Guthrie Junior High football teams split their games with the Noble Bears on September 20.

The eighth grade team scored twice in the second quarter to go on for the 26-0 shut-out win. The seventh grade team could find the end zone just one time en route to a 20-6 setback.

Cade Davis scored an 18-yard touchdown score to put his team up 6-0 and was followed up by  Zac Payne’s 35-yard score. Both two-point run attempts fell short to keep the score at 12-0.

Davis made it 20-0 after a 3-yard run and a two-point conversion run by Ty Doolin. The score capped a nine play, 58 yard drive.

The final score of the night came on a nice fade play when quarterback Dalton Graybeal lobbed it up for Doolin, who came down with the 18-yard score.

For the seventh graders, Noble jumped out to a 14-0 halftime lead before Guthrie got on the board in the third quarter when Troy Branson dashed in for a 13-yard run as the two-point conversion was no good.

Noble added one late touchdown with a 95-yard score to put the game away.
