A juvenile was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday evening on Guthrie’s west side. The child was transported to the hospital while the driver was taken to jail.
Just after 8:30 p.m. two juveniles with skateboards were traveling on College St. near 7th street when one of the juveniles was struck by a black PT Cruiser.
The driver reportedly spoke with the juveniles afterward the accident, but then left the scene. Witnesses who saw the accident called 911 and waited until emergency personnel could respond.
The female driver later called the police about the accident and was advised to go back to the scene.
Once returning back, the female was questioned by officers and told them she took one person and a dog back to a residence following the accident.
She was seen taking a field sobriety test and moments later was taken into custody. She’s accused of driving under the influence.
The juvenile was treated in the ambulance, but was transported non-emergency to the hospital to receive treatment for a laceration to the head.
