Kamryn Boller signs letter to become a Star

Guthrie High School senior stand-out runner Kamryn Boller will continue her competitive running ways in college.

Boller signed with Oklahoma City University to run cross country and distance.

“I am super excited to announce that I will further my academic and athletic career at OCU,” Boller said in a social media post. “God has blessed me with such amazing family, friends, and a community that is so supportive! Thank you everyone for everything, but especially my parents and coaches. I would not have made it this far if it wasn’t for you guys! God is so good!”

At cross country state this year, Boller ran the fastest 5k time ever recorded by a Bluejay at the state meet. She finished her high school career with a fifth-place finish in a time of 19:19. In 2022, she ran 19:44 for a seventh-place finish and in her sophomore, year ran 20:22 for a 13th-place finish.

“I met Kam entering her junior year, and she has grown tremendously as a runner and as a person,” Guthrie head coach Bryce Balenseifen said.

“It feels like my little sister is going away to college! I’m very thankful to be a piece of the puzzle. I couldn’t be more proud, and I’m excited to see what she does with her future.”

Oklahoma City took second place at this year’s Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) meet.

OCU is coached by Frezer Legesse.

“I firmly believe that is a great program led by a great coach,” Balenseifen said of the Stars program.
