Kelly Beeby inducted into Power Lifting Hall of Fame

Guthrie head football coach Kelly Beeby was recently inducted into the Oklahoma Football Coaches Association Power Lifting Hall of Fame.

Beeby, who has coached in Guthrie since 2004 and the head coach since 2014, was one of the founding members of the state-wide powerlifting competition for student-athletes.

“His vision and enthusiasm for the sport has laid the foundation and built a platform that the future of Oklahoma high school powerlifting has used to grow and develop young men for years,” a spokesperson said.

Beeby (pictured left) was recognized at the State Powerlifting meet in El Reno.

The Bluejays qualified eight for state this season, including Tariq Watson, Khayri Watson, Gregory Stevenson, Gabe Sanders, Hayden Calvert, Eli Moroney, Justin Berryhill and Cooper Walters.
