An off duty Logan County Sheriff’s Office transport deputy was arrested after an Edmond off duty police officer saw him stumbling around.
Det. Greg Valencia says Eric Lee Campbell, 37, was transported to the Logan County Jail for driving under the influence and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
The incident happened on Sunday when the off duty Edmond officer spotted Campbell at an Edmond business near I-35 and 2nd St.
The Edmond officer said Campbell was stumbling around as if he was intoxicated
The officer followed Campbell until the Sheriff’s Office and Edmond Police Department made a traffic stop near the intersection of Waterloo Rd and Pine St.
Det. Valencia tells Guthrie News Page Campbell has been placed on administrative leave.
In court on Monday, Campbell was charged with a misdemeanor of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence. He was given a $2,000 bond.
He pleaded not guilty.
