It was an unusual earthquake on late Monday evening. Although, there have been stronger quakes, this particular earth rattler lasted longer than most quakes felt in the Guthrie area.
A 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck at approximately at 11:53 p.m. in Crescent. Its epicenter was along Highway 74 between County Roads 70 and 71, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
It was 3.1 miles deep.
