The Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation have identified the homicide victim from the January 31 incident near Langston.
Shawn Luther Masters, 38, of Blanchard was identified by investigators as the victim.
The Sheriff’s Office said identification was made through citizens watching media reports which described Masters.
Masters’ family has been notified and numerous investigators are in the process of moving forward with this investigation.
“The LCSO and OSBI want to thank all of the media agencies and personnel for their assistance in identifying the victim of this terrible crime,” Chief Deputy Richard Stephens said.
“We appreciate the relationship that we have with the media and truly understand the value of that relationship.”
