Man dies after falling from bridge

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is calling it an unfortunate situation after a man fell off a bridge and later died early Saturday morning.

Investigators say four to six people were drinking on a bridge on Seward Road located west of Broadway. Just after 1 a.m. emergency crews responded to the bridge after one person fell off and onto the water’s edge below.

Deputies say the fall was between a 35 to 45 foot drop.

After several minutes, the victim, Jesse Quilimaco, 45, was pulled out of the water by nearby fishermen. He was then transported by ambulance to Mercy Logan County Hospital where he died from his injuries.

The bridge has been closed since May 2015 after heavy rains washed out a portion of the bridge.

Along with LCSO, the Guthrie Fire Department, Oak Cliff Fire Department and Oklahoma Highway Patrol were dispatched to the scene. A medical helicopter was also called to the scene, but was canceled.
