Man dies following Sunday’s early morning ATV crash

Updated on July 29, 2019 — A man involved in an ATV accident early Sunday has died from his injuries.

Frank Pintar, Jr. succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, according to a recent crash accident report released on Monday afternoon.

Pintar was 39-years-old.

In the original accident report, Montana Simpson was listed as the driver of the Polaris XP1000. However, Simpson and Pintar are now both listed as “occupants” instead of driver and passenger.

Simpson, 26, was not injured in the accident, according to the report.

The condition of both occupants is listed as odor of alcohol and the cause of collision is identified as speed.

One person was airlifted to a Oklahoma City hospital in the early morning hours following an ATV accident in southern Logan County.

Montana Simpson, 26, and Frank Pintar, 39, both of Guthrie, were riding a 2015 Polaris XP1000 at approximately 3:34 a.m. on Sunday.

The ATV departed the roadway in the 2100 block of W. Simpson for an unknown reason, struck a tree trunk causing the ATV to roll an unknown number of times, according to the crash report.

Both men, who were not wearing helmets, were ejected.

Pintar was transported to OU Medical Center by Mediflight and was admitted in critical condition with head injuries.

Simpson was not injured.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol lists the condition of the driver as “drinking – ability impaired” and the cause of the collision as speed.
