Update at 1:45 p.m.Murder victim identified; mother reaches out for help

Update at 8:39 a.m. — The victim in this case was shot 36 times throughout his body.

Update at 8:00 a.m. — One person was seen taken from a residence on the west side to the police department for questioning. No arrests at this time.

Update at 6:30 a.m. — Guthrie News Page has learned through multiple sources the victim has died from his injuries. The case is now a homicide investigation.

Update at 1:30 a.m. — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Guthrie Police Department with the investigation.

The Guthrie Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place just after midnight on Wednesday.

Police were dispatched to 312 S. Oak for a gun shot victim.

The male victim, who was not identified at the scene, suffered multiple wounds to the legs, chest and head. He was rushed to OU Medical Center by Guthrie EMS.

A female called 911 and stated someone was trying to break into her home through the front door. Police say three people were seen running from the scene and leaving in a sedan vehicle.

As police searched for evidence outside the home, a male and female were seen on the front porch and were believed to be inside at the time of the shooting.

    My husband John was coming home from work @ Walmart -2AM that night. Took a direct route down Division and Noble to 2000 E Woodlawn (Cut off of Noble via the SilverLake Spa side road) to reach Oklahoma Ave. I will jog his Memory to see if he saw anything!!!! Officer Gibbs, Hader, or Vas you know where to find us! Be safe so we can be safer PLEASE! ?☺️

  2. Hey, can we get anymore updates on this? How can someone get shot 36 times right by the sheriffs office and get away. What caliber was the gun? Was the home broken into? Was the attack random? I got a family at home while I’m at work.

  3. How is someone “rushed” to OU Medical Center from Guthrie? Wouldn’t the Edmond hospital or Guthrie’s hospital be closer? or Stillwater’s?

  5. They always take you to a trauma center for serious things,and that was damn serious.
