McDonald’s making impact on the next level

Bookmark and Share

The brother duo of Kent and BJ McDonald left their mark on Guthrie athletics and both continue to do the same at the next level.

BJ McDonald, along with his mom Bobbie McDonald, was awarded the Weiberg Scholarship for NOC.

Just this past week BJ McDonald was awarded the Weiberg Endowed Scholarship just before his Northern Oklahoma College Mavs team hit the floor.

The scholarship is named after Jared Weiberg, who was one ten men who died in the 2001 OSU plane crash.

Current Mavs head coach, Bret Weiberg, is the brother of Jared. Their dad, Mick Weiberg, served as the Mavs coach and coached the McDonald’ dad, Kenny McDonald in 1988.

Kent McDonald, who just finished up his college football career at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, will soon be hitting a combine in front of NFL scouts. He will be attending a combine to display his talents in front of scouts at Chicago Bears on March 3rd., BSN Showcase in Akron, OH March 8th, 9th, 10th and Cleveland Browns on March 17th.

All expenses are paid by the athlete so if anyone would like to contribute to Kent’s expenses all/any assistance is greatly appreciated.
