A Oklahoma City man, often paid by metro schools to play Santa Claus, was arrested after he proposed several lewd acts to whom he thought was a 15-year-old girl.

Wiley Gene Davis JrWiley Gene Davis Jr., 49, responded to a Craiglist advertisement listed by a Guthrie police officer, who is also an agent with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC).

According to the probable cause affidavit, Davis made several sexual and lewd proposals and even referred to himself as Santa.

Davis traveled to Logan County and sent the would-be-girl a text message and told her to start walking to a nearby convenience store to meet him. When Davis exited his minivan, a Logan County deputy noticed a loaded weapon in a holster on his side along with a private investigator badge.

Davis told the officer he was going to tell the girl that it was a bad idea to meet people online.

He now faces three charges: indecent proposal to a child under 16, violation of Computer Crimes Act and possess a firearm during commission of a felony.

Davis’ wife says he is paid to be Santa Claus during Christmas time at schools and coaches six-and-under baseball.

His bond was set at $30,000 and is scheduled to be in court on August 22.
