Mineral Wells Community Picnic and Logan County Historical Society membership drive kick-off event

On Thursday May 28 the Logan County Historical Society will be hosting a community picnic at the pavilion in Mineral Wells Park from 6 p.m.  This family friendly event is inspired by the Grand BBQ picnics in the park’s history.

Logan County Historical SocietyFor $10 a person, the LCHS will be serving BBQ brisket sandwiches and sides.  The event will also feature popular early 1900s music and Amy Loch, Executive Director of the LCHS, will share some interesting stories from the park’s history. The picnic will be held rain or shine, unless weather gets severe.

This event will be the kick-off for the LCHS’s 2015 membership drive.  Becoming a member helps  to provide programs for the community and helps support and encourage historical projects within the county.  During the last year the Logan County Historical Society has worked to build relationships with county museums, offered programs such as Preserving Your Families Treasures, and assisted with preservation efforts within the county.  Now is a great time to show your support.

The mission of the Logan County Historical Society is to conduct its activities in a manner which shall serve to preserve and perpetuate the history of Logan County and its people.
