More details in the arrest of a Crescent couple accused of making child pornography

There are more disturbing details coming from two arrests last month in Crescent involving the case of producing child pornography. This is a story Guthrie News Page first brought you in February.

Online records show James Jay Reed, 53, charged with procuring minor’s participation in child pornography and engaging in sexual communication with minor by use of technology.

Bond was set at $250,000.

Rachel Frost, Reed’s girlfriend, was also charged with procuring minor’s participation in child pornography and given a $100,000 bond.

The two were arrested by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and Crescent Police Department.

According to court documents, Reed admitted he asked Frost to take videos of her and the child nude and only wearing matching aprons, which he had purchased.

Frost admitted to investigators of sending three videos and a picture of the child in a bathtub with bubbles covering the child to Reed, according to the court affidavit.

Investigators were able to find several inappropriate messages on Facebook Messnger from Reed to the child, including “”You relaxing in bathtub” and “Are you cooking tomatoes naked?” were just some of the messages sent.

Those messages date back to October 2018, and some of the messages appeared to have been deleted.

The affidavit goes on to say that Reed claimed he was a photographer and takes “natural” photos or “artistic” photos of models.

Reed said nothing he was doing was illegal and was not porn.

Reed told investigators he takes photos of models and sells them to magazines. However, he refused to answer what magazines he sold photos too.
