Motorcyclist hit and killed by deer

A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday evening after being struck by a deer in northern Logan County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Ronald Lazar, 68, of Edmond was eastbound on SH-51 and a quarter mile east of Western Ave. when the collision happened just before 8:30 p.m.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet while driving a 2004 Harley Davidson, was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.

OHP lists the cause of the collision as “animal.”
