ODOT awards contract for the downtown sidewalk project

Perhaps the final step to seeing new downtown sidewalks crossed its final hurdle this week when the Oklahoma Department of Transportation awarded a construction bid.

An ODOT spokesperson tells Guthrie News Page Ellsworth Construction, based in Tulsa, was awarded the contract for $1,068,600.

An exact timetable was not given but the project is likely to start in early 2024.

The project is expected to take 120 calendar days to complete, weather permitting.

The project runs along Division St. between Oklahoma Ave. and Harrison Ave. Related article: Downtown sidewalk project awarded additional funding

ODOT says the streetscape project will consist of doing some decorative brickwork and repaving/rebricking the ramps to be ADA-compliant.
