Motorcyclist killed along Sooner Road crash

A crash on Sooner Road in Guthrie left a motorcyclist dead early Saturday morning.

Members of the Guthrie police and fire departments were called to Sooner Road, near Foster Road, around 1:06 a.m. to investigate a motorcycle crash.

A motorist drove up to the scene and called 911.

The motorcyclist, who was not identified by police at the scene and is awaiting next of kin, was traveling northbound and somehow lost control of the motorcycle.

Medics worked on the patient for several minutes before transporting to Mercy Hospital Logan County where the person was pronounced dead.

Back at the scene, police found the motorcycle approximately 100 yards from where the crash appeared to have started to where the bike was found.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was found several yards from their bike.

Sooner Road was closed off until 3 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains unknown as investigators continue to work on the case.
