Motorcyclist killed on State Highway 74

An Edmond motorcyclist was killed on Sunday afternoon following a vehicle accident at the intersection of State Highway 74 and Waterloo Road.

Gerald D Hanneman, 55, was pronounced dead less than an hour after being struck by a 2005 Dodge Ram.

Hannenman, who was driving a black 2013 Harley Davidson, was traveling southbound on Highway 74 when he was struck by the Dodge Ram driven by Leonardo Valles, 21, of Hennessey. Valles was traveling westbound on Waterloo Road.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s report, Valles failed to yield at a stop sign to oncoming traffic and struck the motorcycle just after 4 p.m.

Hanneman was transported by Deer Creek EMS to OU Medical Center where he later died.

Valles was not injured.
