Victim says car fire was set intentionally

Firefighters needed just seconds to extinguish a car fire late Thursday evening. The owner of the car says the fire was set intentionally.

Guthrie police and fire departments responded to the 400 block of E. Cleveland at 11:38 p.m. for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, the white, four-door Mazda was fully-involved with flames.

Firefighters made access through the alley to reach the car, which was parked behind the home. The fire crew needed just seconds to extinguish the fire.

Officials at the scene say the fire does appear to have been set intentionally.

The vehicle appears to be a total loss.

Police gathered statements and are now investigating the case. So far, there have been no arrests as of Thursday night.

There were no injuries reported at the scene.
