GUTHRIE — Meridian Technology Center’s First Capital Film Crew Institute and Film Education Institute of Oklahoma (FEIO) have partnered to bring a film production workshop to Guthrie, OK on Sept. 23 and 24, 2022.
The first day of the FEIO and Meridian Technology Center workshop will be hosted at Meridian’s South Campus in Guthrie. Participants will delve into necessary film industry knowledge such as set safety, walkie etiquette and more. The second day will allow participants to build upon their new knowledge, and experience a full-scale recreation of a scene from Rain Man, starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman.
“FEIO is so excited to announce its partnership with Meridian Technology Center to bring a film production workshop to Guthrie,” stated Executive Director of FEIO, Austin Taylor. “This workshop will be unlike any other hands-on film training experience FEIO has ever done. Our goal is for participants to leave the workshop with a concrete foundation to pursue a career in the growing Oklahoma film industry.”

Participants will be led by film professionals while gaining on-set experience and industry-level knowledge in various film departments such as camera, production, directing, continuity, costumes, hair, makeup, property, sound, art and electric.
