ODOT announces $5 million plan for Highway 33 in Guthrie

Highway 33The Oklahoma Department of Transportation announced last week State Highway 33 will undergo renovation on the town’s east side. The project is expected to take up to seven months.

Duit Construction won the bid to rehabilitate the highway (Noble) and shoulders beginning at Drexel Street and extending east 1.3 miles.

The awarded contract amount came in at $5,197,910.14.

A start time was not announced.

In addition, ODOT will be installing traffic signal lights on the east and west sides of the interstate bridge for the north and southbound on/off ramps. Related story: Traffic signals expected in Spring 2015 at 35 and 33

  1. This is wonderful news for the many who drive through this area. Hopefully, there will be fewer accidents. Time wise, I am not going to hold my breath on how long it is going to take; considering, how long the viaduct is taking to even get started. How long has it been now, 2 years? And, I saw them patching it again last week..getting kinda scary! But then it is not any scarier than having near collisions next to the freeway area.
