Guthrie Public Schools recognized their October Support and Certified Employees of the Month.
The Support Employee of the Month is Jasmine Parks (pictured above), a paraprofessional at Guthrie High School. She was nominated by GHS teacher Chris Beach.
“She goes above and beyond to help me get the students in adaptive physical education involved and stay engaged,” Beach said of Parks.
“Miss Parks is essential to not only our P.E. hour but the daily routine of the students and is always helping with or solving anything that arises,” Beach concluded with.
The Certified Employee of the Month is Aubrey Ross (pictured below), who is an assistant vocal director at GHS and Guthrie Junior High School. She was nominated by Macey Alexander, who is a reading teacher at GJHS.
“Aubrey has been such a kind person since I arrived at Guthrie Junior High,” the first year teacher in the district said of Ross.
Alexander said she is amazed how Ross stays active despite a hectic schedule.
“Pursuing a master’s degree, traveling between school sites, conducting honor choir and beginning this year’s play performance, Aubrey has shown herself devoted to the students of Guthrie.”
The Guthrie Lions Club presented a plaque to the recipients and Sonic at I-35 and Highway 33 donated a $25 Sonic gift card.
