Person found dead on I-35 off ramp

One person is dead following an apparent hit-and-run accident on an Interstate 35 off ramp in Logan County.Deputies with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were alerted to a body in the roadway on the I-35 southbound Seward Road off ramp shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrived shortly later and are investigating the case.

The Guthrie Fire Department was requested, but was canceled before arrival.

A BOLO (be on the look out) message was sent to nearby law enforcement agencies for a vehicle with front end damage.

The medical examiner arrived to the scene at 12:11 a.m.

The off ramp was shut down at 10:43 p.m. and remained closed after midnight.

Updated at 7:30 a.m. — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports the victim in this case is 33-year-old Vanya J. Evans.

She was pronounced dead at the scene with head injuries. Evans was taken by the medical examiner’s office in Oklahoma City.

According to the report, the victim’s residence is unknown.

The cause of the accident is listed as unknown.
