With the Guthrie Board of Education approving the 2026-27 school calendar, parents can begin planning vacations, family reunions and holiday travel around scheduled school breaks.
Whether it’s a long weekend, a fall getaway or a spring break trip, the approved calendar provides several opportunities for families to travel without students missing class.
The school year will begin Thursday, Aug. 13, with the last day of classes scheduled for Wednesday, May 20.

Here are the major breaks and long weekends for the upcoming school year:
Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 5-7)
Students will be out of school Monday, Sept. 7, creating a three-day weekend for families.
Fall Break (Oct. 15-18)
Students will have Thursday and Friday, Oct. 15-16, off, providing a four-day weekend.
Thanksgiving Break (Nov. 21-29)
Classes will not be in session Nov. 23-27, giving students and staff a nine-day break when combined with the weekends before and after Thanksgiving.
Christmas/Winter Break (Dec. 19-Jan. 4)
Students will begin winter break after classes on Dec. 18 and return to school Tuesday, Jan. 5. The extended break offers families more than two weeks for holiday celebrations and travel.
Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend (Jan. 17-19)
There will be no classes Monday, Jan. 18, creating another three-day weekend.
Spring Break (March 13-22)
Spring break is scheduled for March 15-19. When combined with the weekends before and after, students will enjoy nine consecutive days away from school.
Potential Easter Weekend (April 3-5)
April 2 and April 16 have been designated as snow make-up days. If those days are not needed because of inclement weather, Friday, April 2, would become a day off, creating a three-day Easter weekend.
Summer Break Begins (May 20)
The final day of school is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, marking the start of summer vacation for Guthrie students.
In addition to school breaks, parents should also note parent-teacher conference dates and professional development days when planning family schedules throughout the year.
