Proposed Starbucks location seeking special use permit

With the demolition of the Taco Bueno building, a proposed Starbucks location is seeking a special use permit for their future building.

The coffee shop location would be located at 2325 E. Oklahoma Ave (Highway 33 and Interstate 35).

The Guthrie Planning Commission is expected to hear a request to allow the front facade of the building to have less than 60 percent red brick and the overall design exceed 20 percent secondary materials (wood). City staff recommends approval.

The request was filed on behalf of Seneca Partners, LLC based out of Wichita, Kansas.

The proposed layout is a 2,500 square foot building that includes, in part, a drive thru window and mobile order parking.

Based out of Seattle, Starbucks currently has 14,760 locations in the U.S. and 32,646 stores worldwide.

The planning commission will consider the action on Thursday, April 8 and will make a recommendation to the city council for an official action.
