Recruiting trail beginning to ramp up for Guthrie’s Luke Morgan

Guthrie High School standout golfer Luke Morgan’s stock continues to rise in the Oklahoma junior golf ranks. With the Thanksgiving break off from school, Morgan is in the state of Illinois for two unofficial visits with official visits coming soon.

Morgan, a junior, is set to visit Illinois on Tuesday and Southern Illinois on Wednesday for unofficial visits.

On the horizon, Morgan is set to officially visit with Michigan and Oregon State.

The NCAA allows a recruit to make five official visits, which can begin September 1 of the athlete’s junior year of high school, to Division I schools.

Official visits to DII and DIII schools are unlimited.

As a sophomore, Morgan earned All-City accolades after helping lead the Bluejays to the Class 5A state championship for the first time since 1998.

In the state competition, Morgan claimed another All-State season with a third place finish after finishing as the 5A runner-up in 2016.
