Registration underway for Guthrie Girls Basketball Kids Camp

First-year Guthrie High School head girls’ basketball coach Breck Clark is preparing to host the Guthrie Girls Basketball Kids Camp June 20-22.

“Kids camp is right around the corner,” Clark said of her first event as the Jays new coach.

“Your daughter will have the opportunity to learn important fundamentals of basketball, participate in competitions, and work with the high school girls’ basketball team. I look forward to meeting you all.”

The camp is open to any girl entering kindergarten through the eighth grade for the 2022-23 season. Parents are welcome to attend and observe.

During the camp, athletes will work on agility drills, ball handling, shooting and defense.

Athletes will check in each day at 8:30 a.m. with camp running from 9 a.m. to noon each day at the GHS gymnasium.

Following the camp on Wednesday, an award ceremony will be held to acknowledge campers and their work ethics at 11:20 a.m.

A concession stand will be available to purchase items during breaks.

Mail registration is underway and can be mailed to the high school (200 Crooks Dr.). Registration is $45, which includes a camp t-shirt, or $50 at the door.
