A Guthrie mom has been arrested for her actions inside a grocery store toward her children, the living conditions inside her home and cruelty to animals. The living conditions were reported so disgusting that the children had to sleep outside on the porch.
Guthrie police officers were dispatched to Homeland on July 22 after it was reported a woman was using foul language toward one of her three children. According to a probable cause affidavit, a witness said the mom was screaming, “I am going to (expletive) you up , you better stop or I am gonna (expletive) you up when I get you.”
Once the witness heard the commotion he ran to the area and saw Ciarra Walker, 31, on top of her seven-year-old and screaming “I am gonna (expletive) you up.” Meanwhile, a customer, who was calling 911, began to yell at Walker to quit hitting and being so mean to the children.
Employees say Walker has made similar scenes before in the store toward her children (ages 7, 5 and 2).
At the police station, one child told a DHS case worker they had to sleep outside on the couch on the porch due to doggies peeing and going the bathroom on their beds. It was also reported Walker called the children by different names using expletives.
Police and DHS case workers made their way to the home at 823 N. Oak and quickly found an “unbearable” odor inside the home. An officer stated he had to plug his nose to complete the walk through.
Several hazards were found in the kitchen including, dishes piled up high with rotten food, the microwave, oven and dishwasher being used for storage devices, a fly tape with hundreds of flies and baby bottles near mold and bugs.
Inside the bathroom, a child’s training toilet was soiled in dog feces. The officer stated the strongest odor came from the bedroom of the children. The room had trash on the floor that appeared to be covered in human or animal feces.
Walker told the officer the reason the house was in bad condition was because she would leave the dogs in the house for days at a time.
The children were taken into DHS custody and animal control collected all the animals shortly after searching the home.
A warrant was issued for Walker on Aug. 13 and was in front of a judge on Aug. 15. She was charged with seven counts including, child abuse, child neglect and animal cruelty.
Bond was set at $20,000 for Walker and is expected to be back in court on Aug. 22 for a preliminary hearing. Following the criminal charges, the home owner served and was granted an eviction notice in front of the judge.
I hope this person never sees those children and animals again..she does not deserve either..Prayers for her heart to be changed and become a responsible person in society, but never allowed to have family or animals.
Hope she doesn’t get those children back. They deserve better than that…She needs to spend a long time in jail and let her sleep on the floor. Prayers for these woman.
Leave her ass in jail …I cnt stand pple that dnt tend to their kids its ashame cuz there is pplethat wnt kids and cnt have them … dnt give her kids back….
Hey Mitzie…your gammar is about as good as her parenting skills.
And your spelling could use some work, common sense.
Just wondering why this situation hasn’t been turned into authorities before the grocery store incident. Surely, someone knew of these living conditions and the way the children were being treated before now. Praying for the children that they will be placed in loving homes.
It wouldn’t matter if they had been turned in before. I know from experience a lot of times they, DHS doesn’t check on those reports. I’ve made uncountable reports about a family and never did get anything done. Sad huh
my prayers goes out to those children and animals that they find a good home that will treat them the way they deserve to be treated, and above all to that mother, that she will get the help she needs, and this goes to show ,this woman had to be on welfare and or on food stamps, people like this needs to be checked out before welfare or food stamps are issued, further more i think households should be inspected on an un giving notice
You may be right in regard to the food stamps, Wayne…but this is speculation..the person responsible for this horrific crime is the “mother” if she had been rich and or drawing a pay check, she would still be guilty of being a horrible Mother..the people in the store called the PD because she used curse words toward the children..that was terrile, but only a tip of the iceberg…so sad…God bless those babies and I hope they are put in proper homes with people who will love them.
..
she may be on food stamps but most people on food stamps don’t live like this my daughter is a single mom going to college with a 3.9 ave. and works she is a great mom, student, and does in home care going to be a rn but she has a clean home food in her freg. and her microwave is used for heating things up. not everyone that gets help are sry and lazy just doesn’t make enough to take care of everything on her own she isn’t on it because she wants to be, and she’s not living off the system she does work and is bettering herself for her and her children and no she doesn’t have a ged she a grad. from high school. god will bless those children and animals and i hope it doesn’t mess with that 7 and 5 yr olds minds i believe the 2 yr old will be ok too young to remember i hope but god bless them all
I have been a single Mother MOST of my 3 Children’s lives and I NEVER did this nor did my children have to live like this, I would love to have these 3 children and give them a good home, they deserve so much better than that and I would be PROUD to show them Love and Respect………Bless these children and the families that will be there to give them a good life.
these children are scarred for life… maybe the two yr old will not remember but the others will… she needs to get her life back together and give the children to someone who can show them what it is to love them
It is a sad affair. She was once a happy little girl, but something changed her. I have to believe she did not plan to grow up, and be an abusive mother. May God find her, and change her heart.
