A man from Cedar Valley is facing a felony charge of shooting with intent to kill following an alleged road rage incident on Tuesday.
The situation unfolded near the intersection of State Highway 33 and SH-74, where a Logan County deputy narrowly avoided being struck by a silver truck just before 5 p.m. The driver of the truck informed the deputy about their involvement in a shooting along SH-33 near Duffy’s Way, located just outside the Guthrie city limits.
According to the victim, the altercation began when they passed a white Ford F-150 with a camper shell in Guthrie. The driver of the F-150 started yelling and making aggressive gestures, prompting the victim to pull over on SH-33 to let the truck pass. However, the situation escalated when the driver of the F-150, described as a white male with white hair and a beard, exited his vehicle and fired a shot into the victim’s truck.
The victim reported that the bullet shattered the back window, struck the passenger-side headliner, and ricocheted inside the truck. After the shooting, the victim drove away and contacted 911. Deputies later found a .45 caliber bullet casing at the location described by the victim.
Using information from the Guthrie Police Department’s Flock camera system, authorities identified the truck and tag information that led them to Jon Michael Sinon. Sinon was found at his residence, where deputies observed the Ford truck matching the description provided by witnesses.

During questioning, Sinon admitted to being involved in a confrontation on the road but downplayed it as merely gesturing at the other driver who had cut him off. He acknowledged owning a .45 caliber firearm and claimed to have used it earlier at a shooting range. However, Sinon denied any involvement in the shooting incident described by the victim, despite the evidence against him.
Upon his arrest, at the jail, Sinon declined to comment further and requested legal representation. At the subsequent hearing, he was formally charged with shooting with intent to kill. The prosecution requested a $40,000 bond, while Sinon’s attorney, Marvel Lewis, proposed a $25,000 bond. The judge ultimately set bail at $50,000 and scheduled a court date for June 13th.
