Robinson runs big in Arkansas showcase

Despite battling flu-like symptoms last week, Guthrie senior track star Emmanuel Robinson performed, in Fayetteville, Arkansas this past Saturday.

The Arkansas High School Invitational, held at the University of Arkansas indoor track facility, had runners from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Illinois compete.

Robinson, who made the trip with some Edmond runners, competed in the 60 meter dash and 60 meter hurdles.

Edmond Santa Fe’s Gunnar Nixon took top honors in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 7.99 with Robinson finishing third with a time of 8.20. Robinson’s time currently ranks him ninth best in the nation.

In the 60 meter dash, Robinson took second in a time of 6.97 and ranks eight in the nation. Top spot went to Torri Tillman (unknown state) at 6.95.
