A two-vehicle accident left one truck flipped on its side in the Wal-Mart parking lot Monday afternoon.
A Chevrolet Avalanche flipped to its side when it failed to stop at a stop sign in the southwest corner of the Wal-Mart parking lot.
The Avalanche was traveling south and failed to stop at a stop sign when it collided with a blue minivan, who was traveling west.
There were no injuries with the wreck. However, the driver of the van, Craig Edward Calderwood, 49 of Guthrie, was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
Police say that whilst the fact that Calderwood was driving under the influence will partially caused the accident, it was also due to speeding. This is becoming a problem in this Wal-Mart parking lot. It is thought it will be suggested that speed bumps are used in the car park for the purpose of traffic control. The Walmart parking lot survelance tapes dont LIE and they prove that the blue van had right of way and the Avalance failed to yielld after stopping at stop sigh, Anyone who witnessed it and saw something different needs to have an eye examination.
