Firefighters from four different agencies needed over four hours to completely extinguish flames from a grass and hay fire on Wednesday afternoon.
A bearing went out on a round baler at around 4 p.m. to spark the fire. Luckily, the operator was able to save the machine.
As firefighters made their way to the land near Highway 74C thick smoke could be seen raising to the sky from downtown Guthrie.
The flames made their way close to a structure, but firefighters were able to keep the flames away from the structure.
In total, 10 acres and 20 bales of hay were charred from the fire.
The Guthrie Fire Department received mutual aid from Crescent, Coyle and Sooner fire departments and were able to leave around 8:30 p.m.
