Second reported COVID death in Guthrie

For the state, there were 23 additional COVID related deaths reported by the Oklahoma State Department of Health on Wednesday, including a Guthrie woman.

The death, a female in the 65 or older age group, is the second death for Guthrie in the last five days after going months without any deaths.

The number of deaths for Logan County now stands at five. Of those, two were from Guthrie, one from Crescent and two in the unincorporated areas of the county.

According to the health department, there have been 1,945 coronavirus deaths statewide.

For Logan County, there are 352 active cases, which that number has come down in the last few days after peaking at 383.

Of the 352 active cases in the county, 252 of those are in or around the Guthrie area.

The health department said 29,523 cases are considered active in the state.

As of Wednesday, the state’s 7-day rolling average for the number of new casts reported is 2,950 statewide.
