The City of Guthrie and the Guthrie’s Territorial Christmas Foundation is presenting a Christmas raffle to support local Guthrie retail and food service businesses during the trying times of this COVID-19 pandemic.
“The pandemic might be limiting some of our large holiday festivities this year, so we wanted to do something to show our support for our local shops, cafes and restaurants that really depend on holiday shopping,” Guthrie City Manager Leroy Alsup said.
The raffle will run until December 20 and shoppers will receive one ticket per $20 spent at participating locally-owned Guthrie businesses. Simply fill out and turn in your raffle ticket(s) at the participating business where you’re shopping.
Each ticket equals a chance to win one of five cash prizes with the grand prize winner receiving $3,000. There will also be two winners taking home $1,000 and two more winners taking in $500.
Shoppers should look for the red posters stating “Shop Guthrie & Win” at participating businesses. These business will have flyers with more detailed information about the raffle.
Winners will be drawn randomly and announced/contacted on Friday, December 21.
“We’re so proud of the fact that Guthrie is known as Oklahoma’s Christmas Capital,” Chairperson for the Territorial Christmas Foundation Kailyn Swonger said.
She added, “Thanks to the City of Guthrie for sponsoring this effort to support our local businesses and spread some holiday excitement. We truly hope this season can be one spent closely with loved ones and cherished despite the adversity of the year.”
