Single vehicle accident sends one to hospital

A Mississippi woman was taken to an Edmond hospital after she rolled her heavy-duty truck while en route to the Lazy E Arena for this week’s National Little Britches rodeo.

Emergency crews responded to Seward Road, approximately a mile east of I-35, for a rolled over vehicle with a female still inside just after 5:30 p.m.

As crews arrived, a white, four-door Dodge Ram 3500 was seen in a ditch.

Officials said the driver was eastbound on Seward Road when she lost control of the truck causing it to roll at least once before coming to a rest on its wheels.

The female was able to walk to the ambulance and was taken to the hospital, non-emergency, for further evaluation.

An accident report was not immediately available at the scene, but officials said the single-vehicle accident may have been due to high speeds at the top of a hill with an upcoming curve of the road.

Along with Woodcrest and Guthrie fire departments, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol worked the accident.
