The 2011 turn around season for the Guthrie Lady Jays softball team ended Friday afternoon with their second loss to Lawton MacArthur in the Class 5A regional in Noble.
Guthrie finished the regional with a 2-2 record with wins coming against Northwest Classen and Noble. Both losses came to the hands of Lawton Mac, who will play in the state tournament this week.
The Lady Jays finish with a 20-20 record and improved by six games in the win column from a season ago under first year head coach Lee Linsenmeyer.
McKale Hopfer picked up both wins in the circle and Gracynn Smith belted two home runs in the two-day regional.
On day one of the regional, Guthrie never once trailed Noble en route to the 10-6 win and again on day two never trailed Northwest Classen.
