While Oklahoman’s were making their way from slippery roads to a warm home and dinner, members of the multi-jurisdictional SWAT Team were executing a search warrant in the winter elements. In all, seven people have been arrested in a week-long investigation.

SWAT ArrestEarlier in the week, on Monday, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint from a victim of a larceny who had his John Deere Skid Steer stolen from Oklahoma City over the weekend. Luckily, skid steer was equipped with a GPS tracking device and was detected at 401 W. Simpson Road in southern Logan County.

After an investigation, deputies determined Frederick Warner III, 31,was in possession of the stolen property, along with another skid steer, a Remington 1100 Shotgun that had been reported stolen approximately two years prior and numerous other items were located that were suspected of being stolen, but had not been entered into NCIC as stolen.

Miranda Johnson, 28, was also taken into custody for an outstanding warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.

However, on Thursday, a residential alarm at Warner’s residence and when deputies arrived they saw several individuals at the residence who were associates of Mr. Warner’s, resulting in the arrest of Ronald Snowden for obstruction of law enforcement officers and probable cause for a search warrant which was executed at 8651 Wishon Drive.

The SWAT team, operated by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Guthrie Police Department, helped lead to the seizure of methamphetamine, precursor substances and the used components of a clandestine methamphetamine lab. The bust led to four additional arrests.

“This was an exceptional effort considering the weather conditions at that time,” Chief Deputy Richard Stephens said on the SWAT Team’s effort. “Because of their efforts, there were no injuries to suspects or law enforcement in this dangerous operation.”

Lacey White, 27, Catherine Thacker, 44, Scott Hayes, 24, and Keith Reifschneider, 27, were arrested on the charges of possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The overall nationwide trend indicates that drug crimes and property crimes are almost always associated with each other. This situation is certainly consistent with that trend. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this case, and will follow additional leads as they are discovered. Additional arrests will be made based off of the events occurring thus far.
