Neighborhood Solutions will have over 50 volunteers from Oklahoma City University on October 30, as part of their Homecoming celebration, these students will spend their morning (8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) providing community service in Guthrie on projects that benefit those in need.
Last year, OCU students worked in the Guthrie Library, painted for Neighborhood Solutions, cleaned several yards for the elderly and tore down a dilapidated structure.
This year, Neighborhood Solutions is selecting projects from those submitted by you. Submit a project by email to neighborhood@cityofguthrie.com, by phone at (405) 282-0880, or in person by coming to the Neighborhood Solutions offices on the second floor of City Hall, 101 N. 2nd St.
Please remember that these students are not professionals, and that work should be able to be completed within the 4.5 hours students are working. Also, keep in mind that each project coordinator must provide the tools and/or materials to complete their project and an on-site adult leader for the group.
The deadline to suggest projects is Monday, October 19.
