Sunday night fire damages home; occupants escape safely

A house fire broke out around 8 p.m. on Sunday, causing significant fire and smoke damage to a home. Fire crews arrived on the scene to find the structure heavily engulfed in flames and smoke.

Both occupants of the home, located in the 300 block of E. Logan, were able to escape without injury. Fire officials say the fire appears to have started in the kitchen, though the exact cause remains under investigation.

Mutual aid was provided by the Oak Cliff, Sooner, and Crescent fire departments, who assisted local crews.

While the home suffered extensive damage, emergency personnel were able to prevent further spread, and no injuries were reported.
