Suspect in roadside killing found in nearby county

Christopher Wade Sheldon was arrested on June 2nd for the killing of Jeffrey Pennington.

A man sought in the connection with a Logan County roadside killing was taken into custody on Thursday. The girlfriend of the suspect turned herself in and gave details as what happen along Highway 33.

Stacey Kennedy, 46, walked into the Logan County Sheriff Office to turn herself in and give information in regards to the shooting homicide that occurred on Monday.

During the incident, Jeffrey Jordan Pennington, 42, was shot one time in the chest allegedly by Christopher Wade Sheldon, 37.

Both Kennedy and Sheldon drove off from the scene after Pennington was shot following an altercation.

Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and Payne County deputies later went to a home in Ingalls, Okla. (north of Cushing, Okla.) where Sheldon was located and taken into custody without incident.

Kennedy was taken into custody and booked into the Payne County Jail for an unrelated Payne County arrest warrant. Sheldon was booked into the Logan County Jail for manslaughter in the first degree.
