Teen injured in rollover crash after striking power pole near Crescent

A 16-year-old Crescent resident was injured Friday afternoon following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Logan County that also brought down a power line.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 2:13 p.m. on April 10 at the intersection of West Crescent Dover Road and just east of North MacArthur Boulevard. Troopers reported the juvenile driver was traveling when the vehicle ran off the roadway to the right, striking a power pole and transformer before overturning.

Emergency responders from Crescent Fire were dispatched to the scene with reports indicating a power line had fallen onto the vehicle. Crews confirmed the rollover accident with one individual trapped inside. Additional units were requested, along with a power company, to cut power to the downed line safely.

A rescue unit from the Guthrie Fire Department assisted with extrication efforts after electricity to the pole was shut off. Due to the severity of the injuries, a medical helicopter was requested to the scene. The patient was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital.

The driver, whose name has been withheld due to being a juvenile, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Authorities reported that seatbelts were not in use.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
