Over the weekend, Ridgway suffered a stroke and has lost partial feeling in his body. The bullet remains logged in Ridgway and doctors are uncertain if they will be able to retrieve the bullet because of possible trauma.
Ridgway, 16, took the gun to a friend’s home where Captain Richard Stephens with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office says the boys were home alone for 24 to 48 hours unattended. He says Ridgway was proving to his friend that the gun was not loaded when he pulled the trigger.
Stephens went on to say that charges could possibly be filed on both set of parents, including allowing a minor possession of a firearm and neglect of a child.
Stephens says the case continues be an ongoing investigation.
