Chamber Chat: Forum set to hear questions on upcoming concert

A public forum will be held at City Hall in the council chambers on July 8th from 6 p.m. to answer any questions pertaining to the Mumford & Son’s Stopover Tour.

A representative from Jam Production Company will be answering all of the questions. If you have a specific questions please email lucy@guthrieok.com putting public forum in the subject line. One of the big questions has been how do we get to the post office? We recommend that you get all of your post office business done before Thursday afternoon during the day or wait until Monday. Any letters needing to be mailed out can be taken to Oklahoma State Bank where there is a mail box in the Drive-thru.

The Farmer’s Market is in full swing this year. There have been five to nine vendors in attendance every week. Your support keeps these vendors coming back week after week. So please take the time to come downtown for some fresh produce and hand crafted items. We are looking for a second location and possibly another day to increase the market’s activity. We will continue to accept vendors all throughout the summer.

The Byron Berline Band has a show planned this Saturday, July 6th at 7:30p.m. at the Double Stop Fiddle Shop Music Hall. Byron is located at 121 E. Oklahoma, 282-6646, tickets are $10.00 Don’t forget to ask Byron about his book,” The Fiddler’s Diary”.

Mayor Mark Spradlin has written a book! It is a children’s book called Thumper and the Squirrels. For a brief description about his book you can access the chambers web calendar at www.guthrieok.com. His first book signing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10th at the Guthrie Newsleader from 11a.m. to 4p.m.

The Guthrie Business Women have changed their meeting time and place this month.  Their meetings are always held the second Thursday of every month at noon. So, this month’s meeting will be on the 11th at  Boneyard Grill located at 113 W. Harrison.

This week’s Chamber Coffee will be hosted by Tammy Boxley owner of Backyard Pools & Gifts! They are located at 801 S. Division. We begin at 9:30 and hope you are able to join us. Bring a business card for our drawing.  Please have a Happy and Safe Fourth of July!
