Wondering how to best kick-off the Territorial Christmas Celebration? Pondering what to do on a Sunday afternoon? Looking for inspiration for your Victorian Walk costume? Don’t worry; we have the answer for you!
Join the staff and volunteers of the Oklahoma Territorial Museum, in partnership with the Guthrie Territorial Christmas Committee, for a historic fashion show entitled A Victorian Christmas Fashion Show on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 2pm at the Guthrie Scottish Rite Temple, 900 E. Oklahoma Avenue. Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased at the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce and the Oklahoma Territorial Museum. All proceeds will benefit the Guthrie Territorial Christmas Committee and Celebration.
The show will feature over thirty historically accurate dresses and attire popular from 1865 to 1909, including the reproduction of the gown worn by Miss Indian Territory during the 1907 Statehood ceremonies and the replica of the Haskell ball gown. Other costumes include everything from undergarments to sporting attire, with a few surprises thrown in along the way. Bring the whole family—there’s something for everyone in this show!
