Pets and their owners are invited to Mineral Wells Park on Saturday, Oct. 10, for Trinity Episcopal Church’s 2026 Pet Blessing, a free community event featuring animal blessings, microchipping, and pet-care resources.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with clergy from the Guthrie church offering individual blessings for pets throughout the gathering. All pets and their people are welcome.
The celebration draws on the Christian tradition of blessing animals in recognition of St. Francis of Assisi, who is remembered for his love of animals and creation.
Lisa New with Helping Community Paws and Claws will offer free microchipping. A veterinarian will also provide low-cost vaccinations from noon to 1 p.m.
Additional offerings include pet health and wellness information, a pet-and-owner photo booth, and free hot dogs and drinks.
There is no admission charge. Animal rescues, nonprofit organizations, and pet-related businesses may also participate at no cost.
Organizers encourage owners to bring dogs on secure leashes and other animals in appropriate carriers or restraints to help keep everyone and their pets safe.
