Steve Gentling, President of Logan County United Way, announced recently that Sereniah Breland has agreed to be the Campaign Chairperson for the 2014 campaign.

“We are super excited to once again have a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring community leader for our campaign. Sereniah will energize the 2014 campaign and give us great leadership, wonderful vision, and dynamic energy.” Sereniah Breland is the City Manager of Guthrie. “I have been involved in United Way efforts for years and have always been impressed with the quality of programs and partnerships which they support and the stewardship they have for the funds that are raised through their campaigns. I am honored to lead the campaign this year and look forward to the continuation of successful campaigns from past years. It is great being a part of a team that is making a difference throughout our entire county!”
Gentling noted, “Sereniah’s sense of caring for the people of Guthrie and Logan County combined with her natural leadership skills made her an obvious candidate for being the campaign chair. We are so pleased she accepted our offer!”
The Logan County United Way Campaign officially begins with a special “Kickoff Celebration Luncheon” on September 9 at 11:30 a.m. at the Guthrie American Legion.
Jessica Eaves, Logan County United Way Coordinator added, “Last year the campaign raised over $200,000 and the money was used to support specific programs through 10 partner agencies. Those programs directly touched approximately one out of every four citizens of Logan County. That is what you call making a difference.”
